OASBO INTERNAL AUDIT COMMITTEE

Welcome to the Official Page of the OASBO Internal Audit Committee


In September 2010, the Internal Audit Committee (the "Committee) was granted full standing committee status. Since the inception of the Regional Internal Audit Teams across Ontario as prescribed by the Ministry of Education, the membership of our Committee has continued to grow and evolve.

The primary activities of the Committee include networking with various OASBO committees and individuals/organizations such as the Auditor General of Ontario; liaising with Ministry representatives and the Finance committee, professional development, and work on projects that will benefit all school boards.

The objective of the Committee is to develop audit programs that help Ontario school boards achieve their objectives,  to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. The ongoing area of focus is the sharing of leading practices and the development of consistent and comprehensive audit programs.
