The Risk Management & Insurance Committee acheived standing status committee in June 2011.
"The mandate of the OASBO Risk Management and Insurance Committee is to develop policies, procedures and activities that will prevent, reduce and mitigate risk to students and school board staff, property and reputation. In tandem, the Committee will determine appropriate insurance coverage that can be procured for school boards and to request adequate insurance for third party users of or visitors to the Board. "
